Bass of the Week: Algan Guitars Custom Fretless Multiscale Bass

Originally featured September 6, 2021

This week we’re checking out an incredible bass by Algan Guitars from Turkey. The company shared photos of their latest creation on Instagram, stating “the twisted infinite fingerboard meets multiscale fretless for the first time in the world!”

Algan crafted the instrument with a one-piece ash body, a one-piece roasted ash neck, and a one-piece padauk fingerboard. As they wrote, the fingerboard has a 14-degree twist while the neck itself has a 33” to 35” multi-scale and an asymmetric profile.

Electronics include a hidden reverse P-style magnetic pickup and a piezo bridge pickup that feed into a piezo/magnetic buffered preamp. Other features include a brass bridge, brass nut, and LED side dots.
