This week we’re checking out the Sirius by Aquilina Basses. Available in passive and active versions, the bass has several options to dial it towards a modern tone or take you back in time with old school thump.

The active version of the bass features an ash body, an American maple neck, and a maple fingerboard with 20 frets. More importantly, Aquilina loads it with a pair of Delano pickups and a Taurus TM2 preamp with Volume, Blend, Treble, and Bass knobs as well as Punch and Presence boost switches. Here’s the company’s sound clip of the Sirius Active:
The Sirius Passive comes standard with an alder body topped with sycamore, an American maple neck, and a rosewood fingerboard. Its pickups are a pair of Delano JC4AL’s. Both the passive and active versions are fitted with Sandberg bridges and Gotoh tuners.
