M-Tone Guitars made their first bass earlier this year, and by the looks of it, they got it right the first time. The M-Tone Boki is a custom bass that was hand-built in Portland, Oregon with a “super light” one-piece swamp ash body finished in a gorgeous floral paint job. Its motif is carried over to its steel pickguard, too.
The bass’s neck is bird’s eye maple with a macassar ebony fretboard. It’s finished off with Hipshot hardware and Lollar J-bass pickups with stereo outputs. The company says the bass has a “huge sound and big sustain with great note separation. You can play big chords on this baby and hear every note. We like it.”
We like it, too.
