Bass of the Week: Ramsay Musical Instruments Aurora NW6BP

Originally featured July 4, 2013

Aurora NW6BP Bass - frontWhen Bryan Acampo sent us a photo of his bass, and I knew we had to feature it. Bryan plays an Aurora NW6BP bass, by the London-based Ramsay Musical Instruments. The single-cut, neck-thru bass features ash body wings, an alder/mahogany tone block, and a birdseye poplar top for a stunning display.

The Aurora NW6BP’s neck is built with 3-piece quarter-sawn maple neck an opens things up with a medium-wide 18mm string spacing and a 28 fret range.

The pickups are a pair of Nordstrand Fat Stacks, which are then complemented with a Delano Sonar 3 preamp that offers a 3-band EQ plus a 3-way mid frequency selector switch. It also has a passive mode.

Hardware includes a Hipshot A Style bridge as well as a locking jack socket to keep you plugged in. For more info on the Ramsay Musical Instruments Aurora NW6BP, check out the Ramsay Musical Instruments website.
