Chris Seldon’s bass designs are always so striking. The curves are fresh while still familiar, and they exude both strength and elegance.

This week we’re checking out his Scout 434 model, which he says was designed to be a “straightforward yet well-appointed workhorse.”

“The sideman special, a working man’s bass with traditional heart and soul,” Seldon tells us. “With a 34″ scale and the battle-tested Alder/Maple/Rosewood combination, it feels familiar to Precision bass lovers. While the aesthetics draw inspiration from the golden era Fender Telecasters, the Scout is an old-school Precision vibe all the way. The Scout is 100% handcrafted in Toronto, Canada, like the rest of the line.”

The Scout 434 comes in a handful of color options, but this Shell Pink really resonated with me. Other features include Hipshot tuners, a Gotoh bridge, and a Nordstrand Big Split pickup under a Thunderbird cover with ring.

There are hundreds more where this came from.
