The Mayones Custom Shop pumps out some masterful instruments. This week, we’re checking a custom short-scale version of their Comodous model built for young bass phenom Ellen Alaverdyan.
Aside from its stunning looks, the bass has some interesting features. Mayones fit it with a pair of their Velvetrone Noble Split Coil soapbar pickups and a Musashi Nit?ry? preamp. However, it’s also fitted with a headphone output, so it has a headphone jack and an aux-in jack in addition to the bass’s primary output.
The bass is crafted with a neck-through construction. Its nine-piece maple and mahogany neck goes through the length of the body, which has American ash wings and an eye poplar top. The body, neck, and headstock are finished in Liquid red that is complemented nicely by white pickup covers and knobs.
