I’m always mesmerized by videos of instruments being made, especially basses. Crimson Guitars put together a five-part series on “How to Build a P-Style Bass Guitar,” and it’s incredible to watch even a simple build come together.
Ben Crowe from Crimson Guitars starts from scratch with a piece of spalted English Ash for the body, some flamed sycamore for the neck, and Pippy Brown Oak for the fretboard. It comes together for what they call “a timeless shape with a few twists.”
Other features include Gotoh hardware, a brushed pickguard, and a Seymour Duncan pickup.
