Adamovic has some of the most incredible basses, so it’s no wonder their Private Collection has some of the most incredible basses ever built. This week we’re checking out their King Solomon that started the series.
“With the first private collection bass we wanted to use one of our favorite woods: Solomon padouk,” Adamovic explains. “We chose some beautiful beeswing figured Solomon padouk for the body and neck and coupled it to an exhibition grade 30+ year-old Amboyna top. The fingerboard is a 20+ year-old perfectly quarter-sawn Macassar ebony. All from our private collection. Wenge and African padouk were added to the neck for stability and tone.”
Based on their flagship Halo model, the six-string bass’s body has an x-ergo back shaping for comfort. Adamovic fitted the King Solomon with a pair of their bassbar pickups housed in matching Amboyna burl covers with wenge veneers. For electronics, they opted for an active Glockenklang preamp. Each pickup also has a switch to toggle between series, single coil, and parallel operations. Finally, the masterpiece is rounded out with a Hipshot A-Style Bridge and Ultralite tuners.
