Bass of the Week: Zon Guitars Zemi Acoustik Bass

Originally featured November 28, 2016

Meshuggah’s Dick Lovgren has gotten a crazy new bass from Zon Guitars, and it’s our bass of the week. The one-of-a-kind Zemi Acoustik is based on Zon’s Sonus body style but has a thicker, hollow mahogany body with a stunning flame maple top. Its set neck is made of a composite, while the phenowood fingerboard holds 24 frets.

The pickups include a Graph-tech “Ghost” piezo system in the bridge saddles along with a hand-wound Bartolini single coil pickup in the neck position. Bartolini also created a 3-band preamp that’s adjustable via recessed trim pots on the body’s side. Each pickup has its own EQ controls, which are summed together for the output. Volume controls are found on the bass’s upper horn.

There are hundreds more where this came from.
