The headless bass has a jaw-dropping top made from Grupel Burl, which comes from a tree native to Indonesia. Its dark, complex pattern is contrasted by a Birdseye maple fingerboard that\u2019s fitted to a seven-piece neck of mahogany, purpleheart, rosewood, and maple. Aside from the multiscale neck and slanted frets, the fingerboard is notable for its special inlay that glows in the dark. <\/p>\n<p>Odieng fitted this Orfeo with a pair of Nordstrand Zen Blade pickups matched to an Aguilar OBP-3 preamp. The bass\u2019s controls include Volume, Blend, Bass, Middle (with a push\/pull mid frequency), and Treble.
