Inspired by the lyrics of John Lennon, The Dreamer is described as a departure from the company\u2019s previous builds. <\/p>\n<p>\u201c\u2018The Dreamer\u2019 is a 34-inch scale fretless electric upright bass,\u201d luthier Bill Kretzer explains. \u201cThe body and neck are made from Sapele and White Ash and features a Grenadillo fingerboard. The bridge is also Sapele, and the saddle and nut are made of Genadillo.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The body\u2019s unique pattern takes its cues from Lennon\u2019s \u201cImagine,\u201d especially the line about the world living as one. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe alternating colors represent our world community, made up of different races, nationalities, political ideologies, and faiths,\u201d the builder says. \u201cThe shape of the body is reaching up, reminding us that we have the power to be the best that we can be and to never stop trying.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Kretzer also fitted The Dreamer with a piezo pickup under the bridge with a pre-amp built into the back of the bass.
