The bass is a modded version of his singlecut design.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese specs were specified by Chris Kew to accommodate his style of playing. He plays in a style reminiscent of a Jimmy Haslip (Lefty strung righty),\u201d the builder explains. \u201c[It also has] ultra-low action for easy playing and tapping.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Erizias crafted the instrument with a basswood body and a 50-year-old piece of quilted maple. Its three-piece tapered core ash neck meets the body at a mahogany and walnut tone block. The Gaboon ebony fingerboard holds 24 frets marked with abalone inlays. Its Nordstrand Dual Coil pickups each have a switch to toggle the coil selector (front, both, back).
