\"Duvoisin<\/p>\n

I got to catch bassist Remco Hendrix playing a the Duvoisin booth at NAMM, and it led me to check out more of the company\u2019s instruments. This week we\u2019re looking at their Fat Standard Bass \u201cSatin Prince of Olivewood\u201d, which was part of a limited run of instruments featuring olive tops. The bass version of the series includes a \u201cmassive\u201d ash body with an oil finish. <\/p>\n

\u201cDue to the high density of our \u2018Sagne Valley\u2019 ash, the bass exceeds 11 lbs, yet what it gains in weight, it also gives back in tonal quality,\u201d they write.<\/p>\n

Duvoisin also chose maple for the neck and a rosewood fretboard with white dot inlays. Other features include a pair of the company\u2019s own active split coil humbucking pickups matched to a three-band EQ with a mid-frequency knob. <\/p>\n
