The bass is a fretless with a twist: the fingerboard is stainless steel. Although it\u2019s an unusual feature, the steel doesn\u2019t sound metallic at all, the company says.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRemington Steele sounds spacious, phat and rich in overtones,\u201d they write. \u201cEffects come into their own really well and dampened-played sounds resound with impressive oomph.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The instrument can be built with several options, but the basic configuration includes an American cherry body, a Padauk neck, and the stainless steel fingerboard which has the same range as 27 frets.
