The first bass in the Finnish company\u2019s T. Family collection, the Mama shares several aspects of instruments from the past including a flexible body design.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn the beginning, I was already sure that I\u2019d like to design a body shape that would work as a both \u2013 guitar and bass. And like with guitars I could mash-up with all the best combinations and features from the world of bass. And even more, mix up with bass and guitar features together,\u201d builder Saku Vuori writes on the Vuorensaku website. \u201cThis cool and simple setup has vibes from \u00b451 P-bass with a twist from Mostrite. The pickup is my own design called \u201cBass bar\u201d. It\u2019s a simple one-coil pickup with big 9mm Alnico5 magnets and P90 sized cover. Nice fat sound and cool looks!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The bass\u2019s contoured body is made from Honka, which is a Finnish pine and matched to a Canadian Rock Maple neck and fingerboard. For extra retro style, Vuori finishes the Mama in an aged Magnolia White.
