Its funky maple body is matched to a quarter sawn hard maple neck and set with hot hide glue, which Nelson says offers extras sustain and rigidity. <\/p>\n<p>The secret sauce to the bass is in its pickups, Nelson adds. \u201cThe Paramount comes standard with a pair of Nelson \u201cDynamo\u201d single-coil pickups, mounted to a gold-anodized aluminum pickguard,\u201d they write. \u201cThese pickups have been specially designed to faithfully reproduce the bass register yielding balanced, clear, resonant tones. The sound is truly unlike that of anything you\u2019ve heard. The pickups are wax potted so undesirable micro-phonics are eliminated. The aluminum pickguard affords greater wear resistance and beauty while blocking unwanted magnetic interference which can also cause hum.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Paramount comes in a satin lacquer with an array of colors.
