This week we\u2019re checking out the Midwestern, which blends aspects of Fender and Gibson basses. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Midwestern is a short-scale powerhouse that is compact in size, but does not lack in tone. Think P-bass meets EB-0,\u201d Serek says. \u201cThe Midwestern is made up of a Mahogany body and a 30.5\u2033 scale Mahogany neck. A Pau Ferro fingerboard is standard, but other options are available.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Other features include s single coil Guild Bisonic reissue pickup, which Serek placed at a mid-point between the bridge and the end of the fingerboard. The luthier explains that this positioning offers more punch and clarity than is often found on short scale basses.
