This week we\u2019re checking out an ?ber-Groove 4 Single Cut by Maurizio ?ber Basses called The Promise. The bass features a stunning Monkeypod top over an Asian mahogany body.<\/p>\n

\"U?ber-Groove<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Promise was built for a client who, among other gigs, plays regularly at church,\u201d M?B explains. \u201cBeing a religious man, he wanted his bass to be inspired to a verse from the Bible \u2013 Corinthians 2:9. Most of the aesthetic choices were largely influenced by the biblical theme: the old and rugged Raintree top with voids filled in a way that mimics fossilized wood, the ebony board with a large sap area, the headstock made of a few pieces.\u201d<\/p>\n

The bass\u2019s hard-maple neck is bolted onto the body with seven bolts. As with all M?B instruments, it has a headless tuning system. \u201cM\u00dcB are built around the concept of headless tuning system with a headstock,\u201d the company writes. \u201cGetting the best of both worlds, they feature classic look with the superior reliability of headless tuning system.\u201d<\/p>\n

Other features include Bartolini P\/J pickups and an Aguilar OBP3 preamp.<\/p>\n
