Miki Santamaria<\/strong> is a favorite here at No Treble headquarters \u2013 and among readers too \u2013 so I was excited to check out his signature bass from Lorita Basses. Designed by the bassist and built by luthier Xavier Lorita in Barcelona, its striking design includes a maple theme with a flamed maple top over a swamp ash body, a 3-piece hard maple neck, and a bird\u2019s eye maple fretboard. <\/p>\n

Santamaria opted for three of Lorita\u2019s custom single-coil pickups housed underneath a flamed maple ramp to match the bass\u2019s top. Each of the pickups feeds an active\/passive 3-band Glockenklang preamp.<\/p>\n
