The bass\u2019s unique body shape with its distinct bouts add form to its function while its visual aesthetic is upped by exotic woods and attention to detail. A great example of the model is the company\u2019s Black Ax, a one-off creation with a dark theme. <\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.notreble.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/Wahlbrink-Kronos-Black-Ax-lead-620x191.jpg?resize=620%2C191\" alt=\"Wahlbrink Kronos Black Ax 5-String Bass - full\" width=\"620\" height=\"191\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-29295 img-fluid\"><\/p>\n<p>The 5-string bass is based around an unbelievable 1-piece flame maple body with a dark finish, which is then complimented with an ebony neck and ebony fingerboard. Its hardware, including Hipshot tuners and an ETS bridge, follows suit with black finishes as well. Wahlbrink rounded the bass out with a pair of H\u00e4ussel Bassbar pickups matched to a Noll TCM 2 preamp.<\/p>\n<p>While the Black Ax is a custom creation, the Kronos can be built with lots of options.
