\"CallowHillThis week we check out the CallowHill Guitars\u2019 flagship bass, the MDM. The MDM was born out of three separate instrument models, and eventually evolved into a single model with several options. <\/p>\n

The MDM is offered in 5- and 6-string versions with standard features including lightweight swamp ash bodies, Nordstrand pickups and a fully passive wiring stage with a modified Aguilar OBP-3 preamp. <\/p>\n

Its passive stage is hardwired with solid silver teflon coated wiring for \u201coptimum, uncolored transfer of tone from the pickups to the amplifier.\u201d <\/p>\n

The MDM\u2019s neck features three piece construction with old growth maple and center strips of wenge.<\/p>\n

Each bass is made to order at the CallowHill shop in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. As such, many options are available. <\/p>\n
