The “zebra” effect is attained by using a lighter quilted maple and a dark quilted maple to create a sharp contrast.

The Inlaw comes in several versions, but the 521 BO is a 5-string, 21-fret bass with bolt-on construction. Though options are available, the bass’s standard features include an alder body, maple neck, and rosewood fingerboard. This particular bass is stocked with Funderbird pickups and a John East U-Retro Four Knob preamp, and the hardware is by Hipshot.

The Hot Wire Inlaw 521 BO is built to order with different top woods available and has a base price of €1,998 (approx. $2,500 USD).
